November 1st of last year, I went in for a routine pap exam and ended up rushed to an oncologist for a biopsy. The next day I was officially diagnosed with inoperable stage 2B cervical cancer. Chemotherapy and radiation began within a week, and as of a couple weeks ago, those treatments are done.
It was the most awful, painful, humiliating, terrifying 10 weeks of my life. But during that time, I also learned how to really live, love and embrace all of the amazing positives in my life. My family. My friends. And the myriad strangers who entered and touched my life that I'd never have met otherwise.
The day of my diagnosis, I started a blog to keep those I loved up to date on the situation. In that short time, it's gotten over 10,000 hits and it's inspiring people I have never met.
Sharing one's positivity is truly amazing medicine. I find out in april if the cancer was wiped out by the treatments. But I already know it was. I feel too amazing to be sick!!
xxo. Love love.
